MaplePine Sweat Works Gym & Procycling Shillong Presents ‘Rhythm of the Fields’ – Meghalaya’s First Cross Country & Duathlon Race
Wahlyngkien, Meghalaya – MaplePine Sweat Works Gym & Procycling Shillong proudly invites athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and nature lovers to the inaugural ‘Rhythm of the Fields’, Meghalaya’s first-ever Cross Country and Duathlon Race, set against the breathtaking backdrop of rice paddies and potato fields. Scheduled for March 2025, this one-of-a-kind event blends adventure, fitness, and community spirit in a truly unique competition.
Participants will run and cycle through scenic dirt trails, village roads, and open landscapes, embracing the tranquility of rural Meghalaya away from the urban rush. Hosted at Wahlyngkien – MaplePine Farm, this event promises an unforgettable experience with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, made possible by young volunteers from Wahlyngkien Ramklang.
Event Details:
Cross Country Race:
- Date: March 29th, 2025
- Reporting Time: 7:00 AM
- Race Start: 8:00 AM
- Distance: 5 km
- Course: Marked trails, dirt paths, and short tar village roads
- Categories: Open & Over 50 Teams
- Individual Category: You can still participate as an individual if you can’t put together a team.
- Team Participation: Must have minimum of 2 women participants. Maximum number on team is 7 Minimum of 5 members (including at least 2 women)
- Children’s 1.5 Km Fun Run – special prizes within this category.
Duathlon Race:
- Reporting Time: 7:00 AM
- Race Start: 9:30 AM
- Format: Run 2.5 km – Cycle 9 km – Run 1.5 km
- Course: Marked trails, dirt paths, and village roads
- Bicycle Requirement: MTB only, safety gear mandatory
Registration & Prizes:
- Individual Entry: ₹550 (Early Bird) | ₹650 (Late Entry)
- Team Entry (Cross Country): 7-Person Team – Early Bird (Before March 15th): ₹3000. Late Entry (March 16th – March 26th): ₹3800
- Team Entry (Cross Country):5-Person Team – Early Bird (Before March 15th): ₹2000. Late Entry (March 16th – March 26th): ₹2500
- Prize Money: Up to ₹30,000 for Cross Country and ₹19,000 for Duathlon winners
- All participants receive certificates, refreshments, and medical aid
All proceeds from the event will support the Wahlyngkien Ramklang Sports Club, a dedicated group of young athletes—students, farmers, and laborers—who continue to inspire their community through sports.
